reset – update

In September I wrote a post about resetting my goals to get healthy and to lose weight again. I went from 185 down to 135 during 2020, and then in 2021, slowly started gaining the weight back. My highest so far has been about 170 lbs! In fact I was around 170 lbs few days ago. Today I am 165.4 lbs. When I wrote the post about resetting my goals, I weighed 160 lbs. Why all this attention to weight? I am on high blood pressure medicine and had sleep apnea, both related to the weight gain. And my Hemoglobin A1C was in the range of pre-diabetes also when I weighed around 185 lbs and more. But when my Body fat Percentage went down, I was off high blood pressure medicine (then had to go back on it again later due to weight gain possibly), and in normal range of Hemoglobin A1C. And I can feel it in my knees and my body aches when I gain weight. It’s like carrying a back pack and harder to be active when I weigh more. I don’t think that is true for all people.

I am resetting my goal to reset! My weight started coming down again by increasing daily steps from 4-5000 to 8-10,000. And by not eating in the middle of the night, decreasing snack intake, and also eating at home more. I don’t know if/when I might get back to my goal weight of 135 lbs again. I am not sure I need to in order to be in healthy range. But I certainly do want to give my self best chance of living a pain free, illness free, and energetic life by eating healthy and eating less. I am trying to remind myself, almost as a mantra, everything I eat matters, what I eat becomes a part of me, in other words, I am what I eat, I feel how/what I eat. If you are struggling with your weight and activity level, you are not alone and you can do it. By paying attention to one bite at a time, one day at a time, and also by staying hydrated! Water is life! I absolutely do believe that.
